Your doctor can be contacted to answer minor queries or give advice. If you feel your problem could be resolved over the telephone, please tell the receptionist the nature of your call where possible and give a contact telephone number so the doctor can ring you back. HOW DO I...

Consultations with doctors and nurses are by appointment. Appointments to see your doctor can be made on the day you need to be seen, though we do reserve a limited number of appointments that can be booked in advance. Advance appointments may also be booked at your GP’s request or if you are dependent on arranging transport in advance to get to the Health Centre. Appointments for practice nurse-run clinics are bookable in advance.
Please telephone our appointments line as early as possible on the day and you will be given an appointment with a doctor. Urgent cases will be seen on that day but not necessarily by your own GP. As Monday morning is one of our busiest times it would be helpful if you could avoid telephoning then for non-urgent appointments. You can also make an appoinment on-line. Please ask at our reception desk for an application form to register.
Please inform the receptionist when booking an appointment for antenatal care, cervical smears or minor surgery as a longer appointment is required.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, even at the last minute, please let us know. This enables us to offer the appointment to another patient and makes the appointment system work more efficiently.
If a patient fails to attend a pre-booked appointment on more than one occasion in the previous 12 months, an informal warning letter will be sent to the patient, advising them that a further occurence could risk removal from the practice.
If the patient fails to attend another appointment, the matter will be discussed at a practice meeting and a decision will be made as to whether the patient will be removed from the practice list, in which case a formal warning letter will be issued.

Patients who are disabled or too ill to come to the surgery will be visited at home. If you need a home visit please telephone as early as possible (before 11.00am) on the same day and please be ready to give the receptionist some indication of the nature of the problem. This will help the doctors plan their rounds more efficiently.
Home visits take up much more time so please help us whenever possible by coming to the surgery.
