Patient Participation

HAVE YOUR SAY!

We want your ideas and opinions!

Are you interested in supporting the practice in delivering / developing patient services?

We are looking for patients from all age groups, social and cultural backgrounds to help us with practice surveys and suggestions.

We have set up a Patient Participation Group and we would like to expand on this and gather the views of a wider and larger representation of our practice population.

To facilitate this, we would be looking to create an email group whereby we can canvass members without the need for people to attend meetings at the practice

If you are interested in being involved, please pick up a leaflet/form on Patient and Public involvement at the reception desk.

Thank you

Patient Participation Group (PPG)

We are setting up a Patient Participation Group at Shepperton Medical Practice. We are looking for people to join the group and are hoping to recruit a wide range of pa-tients so that the Practice population is fairly represented, that is, a mix of young, elderly, men and women, those with long term condi-tions, employed, unemployed, carers, patients with a disability and patients from different ethnic back-grounds, etc.

The group will meet at the surgery once every 3-6 months at an agreed date and time.

We believe that the group will be invaluable in acting as an interface between patients and the practice, working proactively to improve services.

The aims of the group include:- exchange of ideas/set up survey to improve patient experience discussions regarding new patient services To act as a forum to feedback to the practice suggestions for improvement to services pro-vided by us (patient services, the organisation and the building and premises)

Patient Reference Group (PRG)

We are also setting up a Patient Reference Group with whom we can gather information and exchange ideas via e-mail. The group would not meet in person but could consist of up to 500 patients making up a “virtual” group.

This group would be called upon to assist the PPG when creating and conducting surveys or when the Practice requires patient input for new services and developments.

The Practice would set up and manage this e-mail group and contact patients from time to time, giving patients in the Reference Group an opportunity to have a say.

We are looking for patients in any age group, but particularly those with young children, teenagers, carers, patients with a disability, as well as those with long term conditions (such as asthma, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes etc).
