Teaching Practice
This is a teaching practice and approved by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex deanery. We have fully qualified doctors working here under supervision to prepare them for a career in general practice. The doctors, may be here for a year, or they may be here for a four-month period and known as a GP registrar or a FY2 (Foundation Year 2) doctor.
Dr Rogers is the trainer for registrars and FY2 doctors.
Dr Sidhu is the trainer for FY2 doctors.
On occasions these doctors may wish to video record their surgery. This would be for teaching purposes only. Participation is optional and patients would always be informed if this was happening.
The practice also hosts senior medical students from Imperial College, London.
Practice Nurses
We have three practice nurses and two health care assistant who run various Health Promotion Clinics, including diabetic and asthma, cardiac follow-up, smoking cessation and family planning. They give holiday immunisations, take blood samples and undertake cervical smears as part of a well-woman examination. They also perform ECGs and assist at minor operations.
Practice Manager
The practice manager deals with all the administrative matters of the practice and will help you with any enquiries regarding non-medical aspects of your health or treatment.
Receptionists And Secretaries
The practice employs six receptionists and three secretaries to deal with your enquiries and requests as efficiently as possible whilst respecting your confidentiality.
Attached Staff
These members of staff are not directly employed by us but nevertheless form an important part of the team that provides medical services.
District Nurses
The district nurses have regular clinics at the Health Centre. They deal with dressings, injections, removal of stitches etc. They will also visit at home if necessary.
Health Visitors
The health visitors will answer questions and give advice on health matters in general and on the problems of mothers, young children and the elderly in particular. They will also visit at home if necessary.
Counsellors
Counselling is available. Referral is through your doctor.
Podiatry
Podiatry services are provided in both the community and hospital settings for those people who have been identified, at assessment, as having a high medical or podiatric foot health need.
Midwife
The midwife holds antenatal clinics on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Referral is through your doctor.
